Lydia Lee, OT Reg. (Ont.), Psychotherapist
Occupational Therapy and Psychotherapy Services
Welcome!
I provide virtual occupational therapy and psychotherapy services to adults living anywhere in Canada (except BC, SK and QB). I understand how difficult it is to take the first step to reach out for help. I offer a therapy space that is client-centred, non-judgmental and culturally-sensitive.
Services Offered
Psychotherapy
Sessions for individuals to process their thoughts and emotions to improve mental well-being. I incorporate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), mindfulness and traditional occupational therapy approaches. This means that the sessions can also focus on helping you engaging in activities and relationships that are meaningful to you, by learning and practicing functional coping skills to engage in healthy behaviours.
Typically, sessions are weekly or bi-weekly.
Veterans' Mental Health
I work with Veterans and First responders to address their mental health concerns including (not an exhaustive list): depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD and OSI, substance use, social isolation, traumatic brain injury and decreased motivation.
How can OT help?
Create new routines and increase daily structure related to sleep hygiene, coping skills and (if relevant) pain management
Identify the occupations and activities that are important for family, personal and work life
Help to plan, initiate and track short and long term goals that enable participation in those activities
Perform assessments to help understand specific cognitive challenges, such as concentration, attention, anxiety, impulsivity, divided attention
Teach practical, non-pharmaceutical ways of coping with adverse symptoms e.g. stress, pain, and sleep disruption.
Help replace unhealthy activities, such as substance abuse, by increasing engagement in healthy, meaningful activities to improve mood and anxiety
Implement trauma-informed care

ADHD Support
I offer coaching to address the core symptoms of ADHD, (i.e. inattention, impulsivity, hyperactivity), emotional dysregulation and other executive function difficulties.
Interventions are based on cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) approaches, and can help you with the following:
Maintain focus to achieve your immediate and long-term goals
Translate abstract goals into concrete actions
Build motivation and engage in goal-oriented tasks
Organize daily activities, school and/or work tasks
Utilize tools and skills for time management
Improve focus, concentration, recall and multi-tasking
Strategies for managing impulsivity and emotions
Occupational Therapy Assessment
A comprehensive functional assessment of your physical, emotional, cognitive and/or environmental factors and providing recommendations to improve your engagement in daily activities, work and/or school. The assessment takes between 90-120 minutes. A written report summarizing the assessment findings and recommendations can be provided.
Fees
$160 per session
I offer direct billing for Medavie Blue Cross (VAC) only
For others, I can provide a receipt for reimbursement.
Please check that your insurer covers services provided by a registered Occupational Therapist
If you are in need of financial support, I have a few spots available at a sliding scale rate. Please contact me if you require this service.
How many sessions do I need?
This depends on your goals for therapy! Typically, clients attend sessions once every week or 2 weeks, and complete 6-8 sessions. Individuals can choose to continue at a decreased frequency (e.g. once a month) for maintenance. We can monitor your progress using outcome measures throughout treatment.
Hours
I am typically available on weekday evenings. Please inquire for weekend availability.
